What to do if mom refuses to take medicine?

MACinCT Mar 4, 2025
If she was hospitalized, she cannot be forced to take them there. It is just documented. So if she is doing it at home, you can try tricks. Most likely you will send a message to her doctor and wait it out that she becomes ill enough, to go to the ER. If the medications are for behavior, you can contact the prescriber for adjustment but most likely this will become an in hospital issue

I took note that the last time u posted was April of 2022. You posted then Mom was 86 and suffers from Dementia. In three years things have probably gotten worse. We will need an update. Also, whatbis TSH. I looked it up and it says it has to do with Thyroid?

We need more information.
How old is mom?
What is mom's diagnosis?
Why is mom refusing medication?
Does mom have dementia?
What have you discussed as regards this with mom's medical team?

Thanks.
