This is in your area. https://carepatrol.com/wake-county/ They will even assist you on visiting a couple of places. You do not pay them. They make their money through finders fees when you find a place and sign a contract. Of course you can google ALs in your area and do your own footwork,. You will know when you feel a gut feeling....sort of when you search for your own home.
(Assuming you live in the Raleigh area) Join Nextdoor.com, which is an intranet of people who are your actual neighbors and residents in your near-in community. Post something like "ISO Assisted Living recommendations". You will get lots of honest, real and timely input from people who are familiar with local facilities.
We are only caregivers from around the USA and a few other countries, so what's available in Raleigh is for your own exploration and assessment. You might consider, if there are assets for care, checking in with a business such as A Place For Mom (by the way they own and support this site). You will discuss with them available assets and needs and they will suggest facilities that are right for you.
You can also go online and do know that some websites will even allow virtual "tours". You can go to the places to check them out. Some even provide a meal so you can get an idea of the food. They will discuss your needs and will show you their rules and regulations, their admission packets, explain the rental fees and the levels of care, and etc. As you tour around you will a pretty good idea. My brother and I sure did.

You can do a search on this site too. I am on a tablet and on my screen when I scroll there is a search for assisted living.
