Looking for in home care for aging mom in Quechee, VT. She’s self sufficient, but needs some oversight due to failing memory. Suggestions?

Have no idea where to start. She takes almost no meds and is completely mobile. Just need house cleaning (light), errands, Dr. appts., grocery store etc. Not every day but a few days a week with other day check ins. Never been through this so have no idea where to start. Contacted Senior Services in VT but they couldn’t help. Have huge list of places but I am overwhelmed. Who do I trust?

Careful the memory issues could get serious suddenly, especially with daily Medicine taken. My dad lives with me now, but this is what prompted a change, as one of his meds makes him dizzy if taken twice in a day. Also he stopped paying his bills and eating three times a day. He lost a lot of weight and went into malnutrition. He is not eligible for Medicaid LTC. If your loved one only had Medicare and Social security, they most likely will qualify for Medicaid which pays for 54% of all LTC in the US. I know this answer might be an overstep at this juncture. But if memory issues escalate this might be a good starting point. Estates can prevent Medicaid eligibility.

Call Senior Solutions in Springfield, Vt. They are a non profit aging care agency. If Quechee isn’t in their territory they will know who is. I see they cover Woodstock.
