How to get help placing someone with severe dementia in a nursing home when insurance won’t help? Getting impossible to care for her at home.

Every county department of aging should have community developers or options counselors to help with resource finding. They should work with you one-on-one.

Best wishes for a speedy resolution to your needs.

All nursing facilities have social workers on staff that can help you with the process of getting your loved one placed. So start checking out different memory cares in your area and then start making some phone calls.
Your Area Agency on Aging might be able to assist you as well along with your Senior Services.
And if money is an issue you can apply for Medicaid for your loved one. And again the social worker should be able to assist you with that as well.
Unless you have long term care insurance there is no other insurance that will cover her being permanently placed.
Best wishes in getting her placed ASAP.

Apply for Medicaid. Medicare and supplemental insurance does not pay for long term care.
