Tracking device for wanderers. Any advice?

While on another forum for caregivers of autistic children, this device was recommended by one of the parents. She is able to keep track of her daughter who is an "eloper" and can see where she is - on the school bus, at school, etc. She commented that she can also communicate with her daughter and "drop-in" to hear what is happening when she's at activities. Seems like it would be similarly useful for dementia and memory impaired adults.

I have set up a Gmail account for my care receiver and this allows me to check on her and support her from out of state. She has already given me written permission to be her gmail administrator. I can also see where she has been by using the Google Timeline (timeline.google.com). However, I understand that if you cannot access the google/gmail account of a loved one directly, you can ask them to give you access to their timeline from your own gmail account as well.

Thanks!

Some people use air tags too. I suppose there are different kinds of tech products for this purpose.
