I’m going out of my mind caring for my mom (96). How do I get her in a nursing home? I’m done mentally & physically and can’t do it anymore.

If you are unwilling to take her to the hospital and let them help you, the only way you are going to be able to get her into a nursing home (that is your question right?) is to visit various NH's in your area and apply to the ones you like. Of course they do cost a lot of money, anywhere from 10k to 15k a month so you have to plan on how to pay for that. Do you have POA or guardianship? If not, you need to obtain that to have control over mom's finances. If mom doesn't have the kind of money to afford a NH, then you need to apply her for LTC Medicaid in your State. If you find the whole process too overwhelming and are unable to place her in a NH on your own, you are going to need to call a State social services and have a social worker assist you. Have you tried to do anything that I've suggested yet?

Check with your county's Office on Aging to get some resources and information on payment for services and facilities.

You could go through your county of her GP's office to find the resources and assistance you need to find a facility for her. There is help available!

Consider taking her to the Emergency Room neareat you and asking for a "social admit" aka, there is no one who can care for her any longer.

I couldn’t go through with that

Firstly, where is Mom living? With you or alone? Your house or her's?
