Is gillioblastoma fatal?

Is it fatal?

OuterBanks74 Nov 2021
My uncle died last month from glioblastoma. His developed 7 years ago. He had 3 cold knife laser surgeries. When it came back 14 months ago it had progressed to a point that it could not be treated again.

I am guessing that you mean glioblastoma?
This is a discussion for the patient to have with doctor. There is much information online on the web for you to google or use other search engine, but you should understand that a patient is as unique as a thumbprint; discuss with the MD. To start to off this is a general small writeup from wikipedia.

Not a good one.

MJ1929 Nov 2021
It's a very, very bad one with only about a 5% survival rate after five years.

So terribly sorry.

Yes, almost always. And there really isn't a great tx for it. Glioblastomas grow fast (some cancers do, some don't) and are often in locations that make chemo or radiation impossible.

You need to talk to her dr specifically and get the real information.

I'm sorry for your pain. Life is hard, for sure.

Tanyah,
Spelled Glioblastoma.

Does your Mother also have bladder cancer?
Is this a re-occurence of the glioblastoma cancer in her brain?

She is 71?

How can we support you in this difficult time?

I'm sorry to hear that, I lost my brother to glioblastoma. Do you have a question?
