Is there anything you can do for atrophying legs muscles? I manually move and stretch her legs, wondered if there was anything else to do.

With a doctor's order you may be able to get in home help. A Physical therapist will come out and show you what you can do. It should be covered by Medicare and your supplimental.

Hi oldguy, is she mobile at all or is she 100% wheelchair/bed bound?
If she has some mobility then there are some very simple exercises she could do to help her retain what muscle she has remaining, you can ask for a PT consult or there are several good online resources available too, like this one

If she is beyond that then the main thing is to focus on is her range of motion so that contractures don't become a painful problem.
