How can I get a caregiver?

Call Council on Aging in your area.

Dawna, begin with checking agencies in your own area. You will need to check your insurance and your supplementals to ascertain whether you can have some payment help for in home care. Many agencies have minimums on hours and days, such as they may require you to use help 4 hours per visit 3 times per week. This can become very costly due to some of the payments to caregivers going to the agency itself, but they often vet more carefully. They will also discuss with you thoroughly what your needs are, and what services they supply.
If you are on some advantage programs there may be services available to you, so check your insurance and your medical providers first.
