My mum has diabetes and thyroid issues as well as asthma and iron issues - recently i’ve noticed her toenails are white. Any ideas?

She has told me she’s had itchy skin near her armpit but I’m not sure whether this is her health conditions causing this or whether something else is causing it - I search up the nails and it comes up with terrys nails which leads to certains diseases such as liver disease! please help me - I’m not sure if I’m over reacting.

By all means, have her contact or you contact her doctor & tell them what's going on with her.

Yes, she needs to see a doctor with all the problems she has.

This can be from the diabetes not being controlled.

You should have her see her doctor. This is really important when dealing with her conditions.

The medical issues you mention must be evaluated by a physician who is an internist/endocrinologist. Those are complex medical problems and asking for advice on an elder care message board is not going to help you. Take your mother to a physician who will examine her and run any necessary tests to see how well managed her diabetes and thyroid are.
