Forget about what the state of PA does.
first and for most, your parent should be paying you. They She can have a caregiver contract drawn up. If they are low income and cannot afford to pay.

There’s a misunderstanding about how Pennsylvians state programs work and this forum likes to tout it as something that it’s not. Its not just as simple as calling around to the agencies and finding one that will hire you. Your parent actually has to be approved for a state funded program and the agency has to be contracted with the state. Or the
parent has to privately pay the agency that hires you.

That said, you are in Florida. There is a medicaid program that pays eligible family members to be family caregivers but your parent has to meet certain medical and financial criteria. You won’t be paid much, there are no benefits and it won’t be full time pay.

In the state of PA, there is a program thru the care agencies where they will train and pay u to take care of a friend or LO. They give benefits too. Call around to care agencies and see if your state has such a program.

You could try Medicaid. They may pay you but if not, Mom maybe able to get an aide for a few hours a week.
