Something online to study? Google MOOC there are plenty to choose from.

Maybe you are discovering that your dad may have a hearing problem. Would be a good time to maybe discuss it. Put your earbuds in when you need a break *or* you can offer him yours. Also, he probably thinks your news source is also fake. Practice tolerance even if he doesn't.
