I take care of my mom. She's having a hard time getting extra help with medical prescriptions. Medicaid says she makes too much money.

We live in Grand Rapids Michigan. Does anyone have any suggestions..thank you terrie and pat

Does she have a part D plan? I would find out if she does and if not get her one that helps with her meds.

Have you talked to the doctor about cheaper alternatives? I would also speak with the pharmacist and ask them if they have any idea what would be cheaper options.

In my state there is a prescription plan called PADD. Mom got help thru them. Walmart has a list of Meds that are discounted.

I suggest you try your Office of Aging. They may be able to help you apply to the state or help you find ways to get them cheaper.

Maybe talk to her doctor to see if there are meds she really doesn't need or can be cut back on. My Mom was still on a heart med for when she had a rapid heart beat. Once she was on thyroid meds, her heart rate and oxygen levels came down. No need for the meds. I questioned them and she was taken off.
