Can I get a check for taking care of my grandma?

The state pays for her to get a nurse to live in her home and take care of her

Babycupcakes, please make note that it is the taxpayers who are paying the Aide [nurse] to live-in with your Grandmother. The State has to work within a budget.

if she already has a live in nurse that the state pays for, they aren’t going to pay you as well

Check with your local county.  Here is Sacramento CA they have a program called In Home Support Services (IHSS).  The person needing the care hires you and you fill out a timesheet and turn it into the County who in turns sends you a paycheck.  There are income requirements but it's worth looking into.
