My client is really restless at night and expects the caregiver team to rub his legs and feet for hours at a time HELP

He will scream and yell at me and tell me what am I paying you for you don’t do anything and be very verbally abusive. Every time he needs something I am right there ready to assist, but I am not a massage therapist and I am hurting my shoulders and hands rubbing what should I do??? Who do I even complain to? I am an independent contractor and I’m at a loss for words and my company that I work with has nothing to say about how he treats us. It’s getting to a point where he is acting like he is going to hit me but he is in his right mind and knows everything he is doing and in control of all his decisions. What do I do? Has anybody else had this issue? I need help or some type of advice. I need to know my laws and how far I can go with this my company is very aware of how he treats the caregivers and refuse to do anything I have went through burn out and horrible depression he’s so terrible that he has made everybody cry by his harsh words HELP and there has been over 20 caregivers in and out of here because he fires everybody if it doesn’t go his way and threatens are job

I agree with others who have suggested you go to whoever hired you. You tell them what the issue is (in writing!) and that if they don't intercede on your behalf immediately that you will resign and during your 2-week notice you will NOT be truly threatened, you should quit on the spot (and call whoever hired you). In fact, maybe you should consider calling the police if he makes threats of any kind to you. Whatever your next caregiving job is in the future, make sure you tell them that "massaging" any client for any reason is not an option. Good luck!

Lordy...what you do is turn in notice and LEAVE. There are many other clients and companies that need good caregivers, believe me. Don’t keep subjecting yourself to this abusive person.

You are an independent contractor but work with a company that has other caregivers that provide him services? Is the company solely for the purpose of payroll?

As independent you just quit, provide notice, there is no shortage of clients out there. You should have no trouble finding another position.

Who hired you for this job? That's who you go to. Once you go to that person, put in your two weeks notice. This will give this man's family or whoever hired you time to replace you.
