Stopped eating overnight, anyone experience this?

Hi

My Husband has had Alzheimer’s for years. Monday he quit eating and drinking anything. Has anyone had experience like this? He ate three meals Sunday but is having pain. Thanks!

If he is in pain, feeding him will only cause more pain. Call your hospice nurse for advice. Maybe he needs more meds.

If he is on hospice call them. If not, get him to the ER, but be prepared.

His organs may be starting to shut down. Has he been evaluated for hospice? Processing food will be painful if he is in organ failure.

Thanks. Yes he’s on hospice so they are giving morphine but I was so shocked he went from eating to nothing. Most I see go to purée and being fed.
