I don't understand "He is not a Vet since 9/11" Once a Vet always a Vet unless dishonorably discharged.
If Dad fits the criteria, he could get Medicaid homecare. Not sure if the State you live in would pay you to care for him. If not, he could have caregivers and you could work.
In the state of PA some Care agencies will train and pay a family member to care for a LO. They handle tax deductions and give benefits. Your their employee. You could check it out.
Call Office of Aging and see if they have any info.
Unfortunately, paying a care agency to hire a family member as the care provider will sap a pretty big chunk of whatever funds dad has since the agency will want their pretty hefty cut.
Why not just have dad pay the family member directly? It would save a lot of dad's money. Family caregivers are not employees so need not pay social security tax. They will owe income tax though.
If he’s not medicaid eligible or a wartime veteran then really the only way to get paid is for him to pay you. Most state programs that pay family caregivers are for very low income people, your dad would have to be Medicaid eligible.
