Nursing home is transporting mom to hospital, they said she was not herself this morning, possible stroke. Any experience with this?

How long will she be in the hospital? She just had her 86th birthday, she had her first stroke 17 years ago...

Something like this happened to my mother-in-while she was in rehab. Her blood pressure was also dangerously high. Ended up being low sodium and UTI. She was in the hospital for about a week.

Morning,

Ended up being high sodium and dehydrated. Also possible UTI - will be in the hospital at least a couple days....

Each stroke is different. Much depends on where in her brain the stroke occurred, how quickly she receives treatment etc.

Hospital stays all depend on diagnosis. It could be a UTI. It could be a small stroke. You really need to talk to the doctor in charge of her care.

We can’t tell you how long she will be in the hospital. Only the doctors can give you an estimate.

BarbBrooklyn Nov 2019
Is there a reason that you can't go to the hospital yourself to advocate for her?
Gerip1092 Nov 2019
I do & did, like I said, I have been dealing with this fior 17 years plus.... Can't drop everything every time something is up....
