I have a husband who is on a walker. Should I hire caregivers every day?

Please answer my question.

Does he need help with bathing? That alone would justify a caregiver a few times a week for a few hours. Medicare will pay for that if doc prescribes it.

Do you have needs for assistance.for yourself?

Is someone pushing the idea that you need a break and you need assistance yourself?

We really need more specific information to advise. The quick answer is if you can easily afford it and it would make your life a whole lot easier, than yes hire them as much as you can. If you can't afford to hire in home help and husband is becoming too much for you to take care of then you're going to need to start to think about applying for LTC Medicaid.

How much help do you need?

It's not so much that he uses a walker, it's "does he remember he needs to use it" or does he need to be reminded and watched ALL the time?

Is someone telling you that he needs 24/7 care?

How is your health?
