My husband is 67 and he is in the process of being placed on the liver transplant list. Any pointers?

Has anyone been through this and could give some pointers or what to expect? Thank you.

My only experience with this is that when my uncle died (brain dead after heart attack), we the family decided to donate his organs and his liver went to a first cousin that had been on the transplant list for awhile. Also My MIL had a transplant consultation and it involved 4 days of testing, meetings with doctors and emotional counseling. By day 3 she had been deemed ineligible for a transplant.

Thank you for the reply.  May I ask why she was deemed ineligible?

Hopefully a member or one of their loved ones are or have gone thru this process.

My neighbor has been waiting a long time for a transplant. Not sure if this is the norm or not.
