Can hospice cease giving heart-related medications in an elderly heart patient with end-stage heart failure at POA's direction?
My mother wants to go home to Jesus. Hospice continues to give meds that help her heart. What are the ethical considerations for me giving them an order to take her off and just keep her comfortable?

Some meds are continued because they are for comfort and not treatment.
I would talk to the prescribing physician and clarify what the medication is doing.
I am sorry that you are losing your mom, but I am rejoicing that she knows where she is headed.
