If this yelling/cursing is brand new behavior, I'd get him to the doctor for testing. If it's not due to a UTI (urinary tract infection), it could very well be due to dementia, which brings with it all sorts of odd & ugly behavior. While it's not easy getting old, it's also not easy for you and Nanny to be putting up with such mean & nasty behavior from someone you love! All the best!
And remember, Blackbelt7, if your grandpa tries to hit you or your Nanny or hurt you, you need to call 9-1-1 right away. It’s ok to do that. You won’t get in trouble.
Blackbelt, it is time for someone to take your Grandpa to the doctor to see if he has an Urinary Tract Infection. Such an infection can cause an older person to yell, curse, and get very mean. This type of infection can be cured with antibiotics.
If Grandpa doesn't have a Urinary Tract Infection, it could be that this brain is failing him. The doctor can also check that out. It's not easy getting old.
