Vascular dementia is it the same as regular dementia?

Dementia is an umbrella term which includes may types of brain disorders, vascular dementia is just one of them. Each type has their own causes and effects and although there are certain common characteristics no two people with dementia - even with the same kind of dementia - will be the same.
