Can he afford an AL till his home sells? I would go that route first. One question to ask of the AL is if ur brother pays at least two years, can he apply for medicaid.
I really don't think ur brothers problems will get him in LTC. At 67, that is the last place I would want to be. My Mom was 89 in her last stage of Dementia when I placed her.
Wouldn't it be simplest if he sold? Does he have anyone else's needs to consider?
