Mom was in a nursing home and passed away with $2000 in her joint checking account. We haven't heard from Medicaid, can it go to heirs?

She was allowed to have this amount in her joint account with me. We are in Ohio. She passed away in November 2018. She had been on Medicaid since April 2018. I have heard nothing from Medicaid. Should we have heard something by now? Do I assume we aren't going to hear anything and that money goes to the heirs? There was no probate this was all she had.

The 2k goes to the estate. That was money she was allowed. My Mom has been gone since Sept 17 and no one has requested the money. Same with her Personal Needs Acct that the home handled. I proved death and was sent a check for what was in the acct.
