Mom (86) has been on a feeding tube for 16 years. She has recently been having issues digesting her formula feedings. Is this normal?

Tube feeding-2 cans formula per day

Water has been reduced from 21 ounces to 8 ounces. Is this normal?

How is your mother's general health? As people decline they have trouble digesting food. Can the leak around the tube be fixed? From your profile, I gather this is the reason for reducing water. It seems rather drastic to me. We all need proper hydration. Are there any other signs of decline like sleeping more? ((((((Hugs)))) This is difficult to watch, I know.
