Does Medicare pay for home health care?

mollymoose Nov 2018
It depends on if the patient needs “skilled care.” My mom doesn’t meet the need for skilled care, like therapy or needing a nurse to help manage a medical condition such as diabetes or high blood pressure, even though she is immobile and requires 24/7 care. In our case with home health, it’s a nurse and physical therapist that come maybe twice a week for a small amount of time. If the nurse or therapist recommends it, an aide will come out 2-3 times a week to help the patient bathe.

And it is not 24/7

Yes, they do. Although not all home health care agencies accept Medicare.
