It depends on if the patient needs “skilled care.” My mom doesn’t meet the need for skilled care, like therapy or needing a nurse to help manage a medical condition such as diabetes or high blood pressure, even though she is immobile and requires 24/7 care. In our case with home health, it’s a nurse and physical therapist that come maybe twice a week for a small amount of time. If the nurse or therapist recommends it, an aide will come out 2-3 times a week to help the patient bathe.

Yes, they do. Although not all home health care agencies accept Medicare.
