How do we get a Michigan ID if you cannot make it to the office because of illness?

I am in this process in Ohio right now. You need to request a “Homebound Kit” from the BMV/DMV. I called but was 116th in line. But they offer an online chat. . The agent was very helpful and within 20 minutes she said the kit would be mailed promptly. I’m not sure exactly what documents are needed but it’s on their website. After you fill out the forms, you mail it back to them and they will contact you for a field agent to come out and take a photo. I guess the whole process takes about 3 weeks.
