I need help with my mom taking her medicine right. Who can I get a hold of?

My mother is very hateful. I am having trouble with my mom taking her medicine on time. I can not be there because we do not get along. She forgets what day it is and the mornings and nights. My brother will not help. What can I do?

Hi, your mom is 90, lives alone - having problem with her meds, doesn't know what 'day' it is....or if its day or night?

She has someone coming in to help with shopping and house cleaning? But still needs help with meals and bathing...

I looked at your last question and someone advised to call your local Area Agency on Aging for a needs assessment.   - Aging and Adult Services

Is it possible mom has dementia? It may be time to get her more help.

Realistically, not much.  If she brushes you off why expect her to be reasonable with a service she would have to pay for? Is she competent?  Has her doctor explained the consequences of ignoring medication schedule?

There are agencies that send out a nurse only to dispense medications. Google "home care agencies" in your area. If they can't help you, they probably can send you in the right direction. You would have to pay for this service. When I checked about 3 years ago, the service cost $15. per visit.
Good luck.
