Can I be a caregiver for my in laws?

My brother is the care giver for both my in laws, and he does not get paid for doing it. My father in law has diabetes and stages of dementia, Mother is in a wheelchair. He has his hands full with both of them. I want to help. Where can I go in my area? I also would like my brother in law to get paid.

If you would like to lighten your BILs load, offer to assist him with his parents. What does he need? When can you help? Sit down with him and come up with a plan.

As far as getting paid, if a private family caregiver wants to paid it's usually the person being cared for who pays their family member for care. In this case, your in-laws would have to pay your BIL.
