Are you talking about Aid and Attendance? It can take many months. I did look into it for my dad but his assets are too high. But the thing also is if they do approve it, it is retroactive to when you applied for it. So if it took four months, they would pay you for the last four months if approved. My dad did ultimately get a good deal for free care at a VA contracted SNF. He had no service related disability, but is on hospice so as a vet on hospice, he qualified.
