Have any of you tried senior home shares?

I have an elder galpal who still has her house and we are discussing it. Also my mom's hubby has just entered hospice stage and she is having to make life adjustments but would like to remain in her home.

Thanks for the feedback. Something like SilverNest has provisions in place and some areas have been doing it for many years so perhaps it is about preparing for it or understanding the mindset. It is not the same rules/laws as tenants/squatters especially if handled by the other agency. The thing is that it is working just don't know that many personally and it seems like a great option. My mom does want to live with her galpals and they've all planned it but I feel an agency might be better legal protection since I don't live nearby.

Dear Anne,

I sort of feels like it sounds too good to be true. I tend to think the older you get the harder it is to share your space. Even young people have a hard time sharing their space. We all get so set in our ways, I don't know if this would work. In a perfect world it would probably look like the TV show Golden Girls but in reality I fear it could be trouble with squatters and other tenant issues.

My SIL recommended this to my MIL. Didn't go over big. It meant selling her house and moving in with a friend. And, it would always be the friends house, friend rules.
