What rights do I have as a daughter arguing with father over the care of my mother?

I think my mom may have been assaulted on an ambulance ride and I want her tested for STDs.

I'd consult with an attorney if you believe your father is not acting in your mom's best interest. Is he competent? Why would he not attend to her needs? I'd seek legal advice on how to approach, process, what evidence you need, etc.

Dad is your mother’s next of kin if they are legally married. Daughter’s wishes come second.

I’m in the same situation minus any assaults.

My worry is that my dad will discharge and bring home my mother who’s currently in an AL facility and doing well. I’ve accepted that I can’t stop him, all I can do is present my case to him and hope he’ll listen to me. So far he has!

So what’s the story behind an assault on your mom?
