I am trying to secure VA eligibility, but need an exception. Any experience with this?

I am a 74 year old who spent 4 years in the Mississippi National Guard. Recent info says I am required to have at least 6 years service in the Guard. I am requesting an exception to this requirement since at the time the required time to serve was only 4 years.

Find your local veterans service officer. These guys are veterans best friends. They know all the paperwork, have to attend classes monthly to keep their certification. Find one in your area. Not all VSO's are helpful but the majority are. If you don' t like the one in your area you are free to find one in any other county in your state. Services are free. My officer has been tremendously helpful.

Do you know if there is a grandfather clause in the requirements?
