Is there a volunteer service to read to a 92 year old man who is legally blind?

He has stacks of specialized magazines that he would like the articles read to him at least a couple times a week. He lives in Somerset. I live in Nashville but my sister lives in Somerset too.

There's an app for that. I heard about it on NPR. It's an app that connects blind people with volunteers to see things for them. The blind person points the phone camera at what they want to see or read, then a volunteer on the other side of the app describes it or reads it. You should be able to find it through google.

Students are a great idea. Our HS Honor Society rquires community service. Check with redcross and Churches in the area.

Ask about high school students to come in. I have seen students in my mom’s SNF helping out for Community Service requirement for graduation

My sister can be available and I am available by phone but I do visit often.
