Has anyone experienced vision loss along with vascular dementia?

My mother has loss most of her vision due to stroke to her optic nerves. This has made her to have very stressful hallucinations and fear that someone is going to hurt her. It is a daily complaint and she is seeing things written on her walls in her assisted living room. She begs me everyday to take her to live with me and my family again. I've done some research and think it is Charles Bonnett Syndrome.

Jules, this sounds more like a case of an Urinary Tract Infection, which are common with some of the elderly. The test is simple, and it can be controlled with antibodies. It is worth having a doctor check this out for you.

I remember back when my Dad at a UTI, he was seeing ants on the walls and in his food. Once the UTI cleared up, the ants were totally gone. I did appreciate the Independent Living facility with humoring my Dad by putting down ant-traps.
