My mother has dementia and is in denial, so now our conversations are awful! How can I deal with this?

When my phone rings and I see my Mother's name on the caller ID, I shudder! I DREAD talking with her. She has become extremely paranoid and is in EXTREME denial! We used to have such a great relationship and now I don't even wan to talk to her. Yesterday she called me a liar.
