Can I use the money from selling my mother's house to pay off her credit card bill or do I have to give it to the nursing home?
I just sold my mothers house, she is presently on medicaid in a nursing home. My question is can I use that money to pay off her credit card bill or do I have to give it to nursing home?
If she has debts, then yes, you can pay off the credit card bills. The nursing home will get the rest until she's under $3000 (depending on your local laws).
