Is it true that if a resident in a nursing home hits a caregiver, the caregiver can't file an accident report?

I work in a nursing home or retirement home however you want to call it, we'll I just learned that if a resident hits us we can't file an accident report because they have Alzheimer's. What should I do?

Follow the rules.

If you are worried about a serious injury, ask your supervisor what the correct procedure would be to file for workers comp in that event.

Since this seems like it is an issue...you need to read the entire policy and procedure documents for this. You should be careful and be on the lookout for aggressiveness... since it appears this happens.
