How do you overcome denial that the family and elder party are proclaiming?

This is a broad question.

Denial is a strong emotion. It is extremely hard to overcome. I don't think we can force anyone to think differently if they don't want to. My grandmother had a dizzy spell and then a gallstone issue when she was finally hospitalized. My aunts and uncles seized on this as an opportunity to force her to realize she couldn't go home. At 90 she was finally moved into a nursing home. Some use safety as a reason to overcome denial but it still hurts.

Wicked, start following a discussion thread " Im so disheartened and angry" started by "Dorker".

It shows how one family member changed from being the enabler of denial to being the beam of light shining on her MIL's inability to function.

Not at all sure what you are asking. Denial, some never overcome it even if reality smacks them right in the face.

The best way is to adjust your own thinking and feeling. You can only control yourself.
