How can I find an assisted living facility with an EALR (extended care) license in New York City?

In doing a general internet search, it is not clear which communities have an extended care license. Any suggestions. Is there a New York state sponsored list?

I would contact the NYC Department of health, which licenses all ALs in the State. You could probably start out by calling 311 and they will put you in touch with State DOH.

And yes, it's enhanced, not extended.

Silady, I think the E stands for enhanced not extended. As you know, NYC is a BIG area. I found some in Flushing, but I believe you may have better luck with a computer search using the borough and section you feel would be best.

Silady, I am moving your question back to the front page.... hopefully a caregiver who lives in the NYC area and is familiar with EALR can help you :)
