Mom has burning pain between the thigh where it meets the tummy. Anyone hear of that?

Ray, have Mom checked by her primary doctor to see if she has an Urinary Tract Infection as that can cause a burning feeling when she goes to the bathroom and possible after wards. The test is simple, and the treatment is antibiotics.

Could be a number of things. I would take her to her PCP or ER as soon as you can. Could be appendicitis, diverticulosis, fractured femur, lots of serious things.

Is it just on one side? It might be shingles. Shingles starts as a rash and is painful. It can start anywhere on the body but will be only on one side of the body. Is your mom at home or in ALF or NH? If you think it might be shingles, get her to an ER or Urgent Care or call her doctor for an antiviral shot right away as it can lessen the length of time she will have it and lessen the severity. Also a pain reliever will help with the pain. Look up shingles online, lots of information. Again, there would be a rash.
