Has anyone had experience (good or bad) with stopping Donazepil altogether?

My husband is in the fourth year of diagnosis of Alzheimers, then Lewy Body Dementia.  He had been taking Donazepil for those 4 years. I don't see much difference now, and the dr. said try taking him off of it.
