The insurance company wants to know why my 93 year old father wants to change ownership of his life insurance policy to my sister. Is estate planning a valid reason?

My 93 year old father has a life insurance policy bought by his deceased mother over 60 years ago the policy is still valid. He wants to change the ownership to my sister. Insurance company wants to know why,  is estate planning a valid reason?

They just want to be sure it isn't a case of your Dad going off on a tangent provoked by dementia.

If he isn't cognizant, then they cannot allow the change
