Since you have already been accused of calling "elderly affairs" what do you have to lose? Contact Adult Protective Services and tell them your story. There should be transparancy when the elderly need assistance.
It is my younger brother and sister. Our parent has dementia and they will tell me that it is not a good day or I will call and never does when it is a good. I have tried to stop by put they have changed the code allow me into the neighborhood. My parent had always called and told me the new number. We all live in the same state. He has accused me of calling Elderly affairs and I have not. I wrote a letter to both just asking that they allow me to see our mother. They have not responded. At Christmas I sent a card asking to see them and when I got a card back I was told that we would talk after the holidays. well now it's been 4 months. I just don't know what I can do
Please give us more information. Who is not allowing you to visit your parents? What is the reason? Do the parents live at home, with a grown child, or are they in senior living? What are their medical issues? Is there memory problems? Have you gone to visit your parents and weren't allowed in? Or has it been some time since your last visited?
