How do these compare?

differences in care and accomodations - some have a one time $200,000 fee and a monthly charge others are monthly?

Hi floglo,

It sounds as if you are comparing a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), which requires a substantial up-front payment and subsequent monthly payments, to more traditional monthly rental-type senior living communities. The article below helps to explain the differences between the three kinds of long-term care options.

If you could provide some additional information on what level of care you're looking for, I'm sure other users will be able to chime in with more detailed advice.
