My husband has straight Medicaid.

I would like to know what this means. Very important now bc he is in a skilled nursing home after being in the hospital with sepsis due to several UTI'Is. His Alzheimer's is worse, his Foley cathader has been removed, and inserted into his abdomen. I do not want him to go back to the board and care where he has been the last 7 months. The state told me he has straight medicaid. Can I insist he stay there instead of going back to that home?

It typically depends on your state, Kixxybaby. Medicaid is dependent on its state's rule and regulations. I am very sorry you and your husband are dealing with health issues. As far as the facility is concerned, and not knowing if the medicaid is a new arrangement for him, some facilities can accept Medicaid and some cannot. It is up to them and how they are organized. I am sorry that I am not able to answer your questions. The answers depend on the facility you wish to admit and which state you live.
