Is either of your parents on Medicaid? In many states a family member can receive some payment for caring for a Medicaid recipient living at home. This isn't going to take the place of your decent salary, but it could help some. Or instead of being paid yourself, having Medicaid provide the care through an agency might free you up some from those duties.

If your parents are not on Medicaid, do they have sufficient resources to pay you? If they can, that is a perfectly valid arrangement. The parent living with you should be paying you at least for room and board and possibly for care. Is this happening? There should be a written agreement in place to make it clear that this money is for payment, and is not a gift.
