How can I turn my husband in bed by myself?

mistyds Mar 2017
Before my grandmother had a hospital bed I would get behind her and pull her up from under her arms. I would also duo the same thing but with a sheet under her arms.

I find any flat sheet is fine to use as a transfer sheet. Fold it into a big square and place it from under their bottom to just below their shoulders, making sure there is plenty of sheet on either side.

Once the hospital bed came I would lower her head all the way down and raise her feet all the way up. Probably not real comfortable but then I would grab under her arms and scoot her to the edge. Then return her to her normal position.

Being new at something as important as a caregiver can be frustrating and upsetting. YouTube and Google are seriously great sources for help and information!

CM, what size slider sheet did you find worked best?

And get a slide sheet, one of the ones that's a satin-finish material sewn in a loop so that you can reach underneath and slide it out hoopla! Just like so! when you're done. You could move a grand piano with one of those, easily.
